poetically, man dwells
Film
In Poetically, Man Dwells, the rolling hills of the Queensland Scenic Rim sit quietly against Mount Maroon’s 966 metre twin peaks. Nearing the end of a long summer dense with rainfall, a downpour threatens once again on a February afternoon. The gust never arrives, and nightfall prevails on a dry gully. Away from the white noise of the city, the intensity of the collective human experience is often amplified. German philosopher Martin Heidegger’s world view here is poignant; as described by Adam Sharr (2007), “...most of us, most of the time, [are] missing the point... in the face of the elements, human powerlessness is focussed sharply”.
